Dr. Claudia I. Contreras earned her D.D.S. from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City in 1998.
In 2004 she earned her Pediatric Dentistry Certificate from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Following her pediatric training, she completed a one year fellowship in pediatric dentistry focusing her curriculum in pediatric sedations at The Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

In August of 2005, she joined the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio as a Clinical Assistant Professor.Dr. Contreras serves as the pediatric dental director at one of the off-site clinics (Dr. Frank Bryant Communicare). She also is involved is clinical research projects at UTHSCSA.

Dr. Contreras has also been a part of the Continuing Education department providing CE course twice a year since 2006.
