Dr. Henson is Associate Professor in the Department of Developmental Dentistry, and is the Postdoctoral Program Director for Pediatric Dentistry. In that role, he is responsible for the curriculum of the postdoctoral program and scheduling for all clinical activities.

Dr. Henson has published ten articles in peer reviewed publications. His research interests include presurgical orthopedics for cleft lip and palate infants, as well as laser pulp therapy in primary teeth. He has also been involved in clinical trials of various dental materials.

Dr. Henson is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and has served on the Council of Clinical Affairs. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and currently serves as a consultant for the Oral Clinical Examination. Dr. Henson currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has served as President of the San Antonio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and as Chair of the Pediatric Dentistry Section of the American Dental Education Association. He also currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Dentistry for Children. Dr. Henson also holds membership in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, American Association of Dental Research, and the San Antonio District Dental Society.
