Colonel Jeffrey C. Mabry is the Chairman, Pediatric Dentistry, 59th Dental Squadron, 59th Aeromedical Dental Group, Lackland AFB, TX. He plans and directs all clinical and administrative aspects of the Pediatric Dental Service. He is responsible for the diagnoses, evaluations, and comprehensive treatment for all eligible pediatric dental patients. He admits infants and handicapped children to the hospital for operating room (OR) delivery of dental care. He conducts, monitors, and supervises 20 two-year AEGD residents and six Post-graduate Short Course Students. He provides patient care in the entire spectrum of the specialty. He also serves as the Chief Military Consultant to the USAF Surgeon General for Pediatric Dentistry.
Col Mabry transferred to the USAF from the US Public Health Service (USPHS) in September, 1989. He served three tours with the Indian Health Service Branch of the USPHS: Mescalero Indian Hospital, NM; Anadarko Indian Health Clinic, OK; and Claremore Indian Hospital, OK. He was on inactive reserve status with the USPHS from July, 1981-August, 1984 while he was involved in his Dental General Practice Residency (Oklahoma Children’s Memorial Hospital) and his Pediatric Dentistry Residency (University of Minnesota).
Col Mabry was previously Chairman, Pediatric Dentistry at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH and OIC, Pediatric Dentistry at Lakenheath AFB, UK.
Col Mabry retired from the USAF in October, 2006. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at the UTHSCSA Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He is the Director of the Dental Center For Children at Christus Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital. He served on the Board of Directors and as President of the College of Diplomates for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (2009-2010). He served as a Consultant and Examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He currently serves as a Team Leader on the Oral Clinical Examination sub-committee.
