Dr. Issa Sasa earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1991.In 1992 he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and earned his Pediatric Dentistry Certificate and Master’s of Science Degrees from the University of Iowa.

In 1999 he earned the Fellowship of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Pediatric Dentistry, and in 2003 became American Board certified in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr.Sasa has several publications and has lectured extensively. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Dentistry for Children, an official publication of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is the recipient of the 2005/2006 American Academy of Continuing Medical Education Outstanding Speaker of the Year Award.

In 2007, he joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as an Associate Clinical Professor and Pre-Doctoral Program Director of Pediatric Dentistry in the Developmental Dentistry Department. Dr. Sasa is involved in multiple clinical research projects in areas of non-pharmacologic behavior, pediatric dental restorative materials, and cardiology.
