Dr. Deahl earned a D.M.D. from Southern Illinois University and a Ph.D. (radiation biology) from The University of Iowa.
He has completed residencies in oral pathology and oral and maxillofacial radiology. He teaches radiology to the Department’s orthodontic residents, and coordinates a program of practice-based orthodontic research in collaboration with regional orthodontists. At the UTHSCSA he is cross-appointed to Dental Diagnostic Science and to Radiation Oncology. Dr. Deahl also is a staff speaker for the Institute for Natural Resources and for Biomed General of Concord, California.
